3 Stars Probably not best for long term use.
I’ve had these crutches for about a year. I only use one at a time, and I retired the first one about six months ago. I’ve had a problem with the bolt holes where the cuff attaches to the rest of the crutch; I depend heavily on the crutch for stability so with every step it bears weight outward, and with every step, I imagine, the bolt hole gets just a tiny bit larger, making the cuff floppier. At this point near the end of the second crutch’s life, the cuff will swing from side to side in an arc several inches wide. If the bolt hole could somehow be reinforced with metal that wasn’t so soft the product as a whole would be much more durable.
The tips lost their texture quickly, so if I have to walk on wet linoleum or something similar, the crutch is likely to slip. The poles are very well constructed, and the grip is quite comfortable. Even the cuff itself is well made; I always have the same problem with the rubber on the underside of the cuff wearing down to the metal underneath in time because of the way I rest the crutch on the edge of a table or counter, but this model wore considerably better than the last few I tried.
So, now the time has come to order new crutches, and I think I’ll be trying greener pastures for want of less floppy cuffs. If you only need crutches for a short period, these would probably be just fine, and the price is right.
5 Stars Excellent product for a very good price
I ordered this crutch for when my (broken and never quite recovered) knee is too sore but I happened to have some minor foot surgery only days after I received it and I found myself trying it out right away, even if my knee was fine.
The crutch is surprisingly light and easy to use and adjust. Every detail of it is carefully made.
I have used it for stairs, walks or just around the house and I couldn’t recommend it enough!
